A 64-year-old businessman who has impregnated his 15-year-old grand-daughter at Korle Gonno in Accra has been put before an Accra Circuit Court charged with incest and defilement.
Emmanuel Oko Lartey pleaded not guilty, was remanded into police custody and will reappear on January 30
The victim, who gave birth three weeks ago, used to run errands for her grandfather, the accused, who in turn gave her money daily.
Prosecuting Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sarah Acquah told the court presided over by Ms Ellen amoah that Amos Donkor, the victim�s father ,was the complainant.
ASP Acquah said the victim and her (Maternal) grandfather lived at Korle-Gonno near Korle Bu.
Prosecution said in 2013, the victim used to go to her grandfather to run errands for him but he took advantage of the victim, had sex with her on two occasions and the victim became pregnant. Lartey took the victim to a hiding place until she delivered.
A report was made to the Police and Lartey was arrested.
