Ghana Face Libya On Friday

The local Black Stars will on Friday clash with the Mediterranean Knights of Libya in the second Group C game at the on-going Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) at the Free State Stadium, Mangaung, South Africa. Both teams are on three points and require a win to move to the next stage of the competition, hence an anticipated cagey duel. Ghana will start as underdogs despite a slim opening win earlier in the week and Maxwell Konadu will be the first to admit that his charges must play above themselves to keep their dreams of a surge on course. Against a tactically disciplined Libyan side coached by Javier Clemente who is promising a clean sheet, Jordan Opoku will have to dig deep to inspire his mates to improve upon their showing in their opener against Congo Brazzavile. Konadu is not expected to ring whole sale changes in the squad that defeated the Congolese which included Godfred Saka and Kwabena Edusei and among others. Both teams drew one all the last time they met in a similar competition in 2009 and Friday's duel is expected to produce nothing short of fireworks.
