�I Will Kill You All When Am Released�

A remand prisoner stunned the officials on duty at the Koforidua Prison when he threatened to kill them one after the other when he is released finally from prison. �When I am released from prison, I will look for you, chief officer and the men on duty at the main gate and kill you one after the other with a powerful gun,� Kofi Baffour, the suspect said. Baffour also known as Cash, 30, a trader, made the utterances after going through the necessary formalities before he was admitted into the prison on remand by a Koforidua High Court for robbery and possession of narcotic substances. He was consequently reported to the police, who charged him with threat of death, in addition to the charge of possession of narcotics. He however pleaded not guilty and will re-appear before the court, to open his defence. Prosecuting, Inspector Ben Annor informed the court, that the complainant was the Chief Officer and Yard Master of the Koforidua Prison while Baffour is a trader, and remand prisoner, standing trial at the Koforidua Circuit Court for possession of narcotics. He said on October 19, 2013 he and an accomplice were sent to Koforidua for trial by the authorities of the Nsawam prison. From the court, Baffour was sent to the Koforidua Prison on remand and at the reception, he was taken through the usual checks and searches. During the process, he threatened to kill the Chief Officer, Godwin Yao Seanedzu, the Deputy of Prison, Mr. Kwame Kumah Kpali, Assistant Chief Officer, Joseph Yevoo and George Baffoe who were on duty at the main gate, upon his release from prison. Chief Inspector Seanedzu reported the matter to his superior offers and a formal complain was lodged with the Eastern Regional Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The police took over the investigations and visited the Koforidua Prisons to question Baffour, but he did not co-operate with them, following which he was charged and arraigned before the court.
