The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is calling for a state funeral for ace broadcaster Komla Dumor who died in his London home last Saturday.

According to the GJA Komla Dumor�s contributions in building the image of Ghana to the outside world was superb hence the need to honor him.

Speaking to Citi News President of the GJA Affail Monney who described Komla Dumor as a �national hero from all angles� said apart from him doing his work as a journalist well, �internationally he projected what more than one single ambassador could do.�

He explained that it is in recognition and in appreciation of what Komla Dumor did for Ghana that the GJA is calling on the state to accord him the highest honour with a �state burial.�

In a related development, Former UN Secretary General, Mr. Kofi Annan says Africa has lost one of its brightest young journalists who was always determined to find the truth and report it.

In a statement paying tribute to the late Komla Dumor, Mr. Annan stated that Komla�s influential figure on the BBC and his love for Africa made him an outstanding journalist adding that he was an inspirational journalist with a wonderful sense of humor.
