Y 107.9 FM, the official frequency for the young and young at heart, has officially launched the 3rd edition of its �Y Sports Hood Games� event. The Y Sports Hood Games is a periodic competitions Spearheaded by the YFM Sports team. The event sees various neighborhoods in the Greater Accra Region compete in a number of exciting sporting activities including football, Swimming, Table Tennis, and Basketball. Winners of the previous edition held in November, 2013 were given trophies and certificates. Awards were given to representatives from James Town for winning the swimming competition, Chorkor for placing second in the swimming competition. Amasaman received an award for winning the basketball competition and Mataheko for winning the Football competition. Jay Foley, Station Manager of YFM remarked at the launch that �the Y Sports Hood Games offers a great opportunity for us to connect, interact, and bring out the sporting talents from the various neighborhoods in Accra. As the official frequency for the young and the young at heart, bringing our listeners together to share and have fun on one common platform is our passion. This is the 3rd edition of the Y Sports Hood Games and we look forward to having much bigger participation than we did last year.� Jay Foley congratulated the winners and urged them to take part again this year. Registration for the 3rd edition of the Y Sports Hood Games will open on March 12 and close on March 31, and the games are scheduled for April 12, 2014.
