Man Steals From Offertory Bowl

But for the timely intervention of two church members of the Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church at Dansoman in Accra, Bernard Ebo Morgan, 30, would have been skinned alive. Bernard who is a member of the Church, was caught red-handed stealing from the offertory bowl. The Dansoman District Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Christopher Owusu, who confirmed this to The Spectator, said on January 19, 2014, Bernard who was smartly dressed, joined the congregation for worship. During the offertory, he pretended as if he was making his contribution, and dipped his hands into the bowl and took some money out of it. One of the worshippers who saw him raised the alarm, prompting some of the congregants attempting to assault him. He was however, rescued by two of the worshippers who handed him over to the Dansoman police. When he was searched, GH�22 he was suspected to have picked from the offertory bowl was found on him.
