New Transport Directive Not Meant For Revenue Generation AMA Boss

Accra Mayor, Alfred Oko Vanderpuiye has implored vehicle drivers in the country to comply with the new transportation directive issued by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA). Government will by July 1 this year implement a High Quality Bus Service to improve bus services in the Accra Metropolis. The new procedure will see into force new stickers being issued to taxi and commercial bus drivers as the conduct their activities in the metropolis. Dr. Oko Vanderpuiye called on the drivers to note that the new order is intended to prevent any illegalities associated with transport services in the country. He explained the colour-coded stickers (red stickers for taxis and blue stickers for commercial buses) would help transport unions identify and regulate their members. It is also intended to flush out any fake stickers in the system. Speaking on Radio Golds Gold Power Drive, the Accra Mayor reiterated that the issuance of stickers to the drivers is not that we are adding a new sticker to the operation. Were only replacing the stickers that have always be distributed by individual assembly with now a harmonius one that is identifiableWe also doing this to ensure that we would reduce, if completely eliminate, the fake stickers that sometimes are produced by some individuals and group of persons that we know are always sold to drivers within our jurisdiction. So, this brings us various levels of safety and comfort, and its efficiency and effectiveness in the way we operate our commercial vehiclesThis is not meant for revenue. It is only meant to streamline things and to do things well.
