Twins Killed In Suhum Flood

A collapsed building last Thursday killed four-year-old twins after a heavy downpour in a village near the Suhum Municipality in the Eastern Region. Akor Magi and Akweley Magi were crushed to death while asleep in a mud house said to be 70-year-old. Six others escaped with minor injuries and were taken to the Suhum Government Hospital. Vida, the mother of the dead twins, told DAILY GUIDE that they heard a deafening noise while they were asleep. They woke up to find the mud house collapsing and claiming the lives of the twins instantly. Also affected by the rain was a large segment of the local market and other buildings. The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Samuel Kwabi, had consoled the bereaved family. The personnel of the National Disaster Management Committee (NADMO) were on the ground to assess the extent of the damage.
