Amissah-Arthur Investment Forum In Abidjan

Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has left for Abidjan, La Cote d'Ivoire to attend a forum on international investments. The forum, which begins on January 29, 2013 and ends on February 1, 2013, would be on the theme "Private Sector, Lever of a successful Regional Integration." The sub-themes of the forum are: "Agricultural Business, Economic Infrastructure, Public-Private Partnership, and Promotion of the Small Medium Enterprises, Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development." A release issued by Mr Kweku Tsen, Presidential Staffer, Communications, Office of the Vice-President said the forum will attract high profile personalities such as Messrs Donald Kaberuka, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Makhtar Diop, World Bank Vice-President for the region and Mrs Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund. The Vice-President of Nigeria, Mr Mohammed Sambo has also been invited to participate in the forum. The opening ceremony would be performed by the Ivorian President, Mr Alhassane Ouattara, after which the gathering would break into panel discussions on pertinent issues militating against the smooth and orderly development of the sub-region. According to the release, the panelists would discuss at length the various social and economic dynamics such as education, health care and infrastructure and suggest ways to attract more investment to those sectors, which are considered as crucial to the economies and well being of the people in the region.
