Ghana-Burkina Faso Port Health Centre Lacks Personnel

The Hamile Port Health Center in the Lambussie-Karni District of the Upper West Region responsible for the surveillance of the entry of both human and animals into the country through the Burkina Faso border is in a deplorable condition. Aside the leaky nature of its roof, the facility lacks adequate staff. Currently, there are only two trained Environmental Health and Meat Inspectors overseeing its operations. The Deputy Environmental Health and Meat Inspector in Charge of the facility, Amin Iddrisu made this known during the districts 2013 annual health performance review conference at Lambussie.
