Police Service Will Not Tolerate Indiscipline-DCOP Boakye

The out-going Western Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nathan Kofi Boakye, has cautioned police personnel who are not prepared to be disciplined, that the Police Service would not tolerate indiscipline and lawlessness. DCOP Boakye gave the warning at the Annual West Africa Security and Social Activity (WASSA) and a farewell party for him at Sekondi on Friday. He said during his 10 months stay in the region as the head of the Police Service, there was tremendous transformation in terms of infrastructural development at the regional police headquarters. DCOP Boakye indicated that the region also witnessed reduction in crime rate, while the police accessibility and visibility policy was implemented to the letter. The out-going Regional Police Commander observed that although he encountered some challenges, but with team work and support of other stakeholders, the Police Service chalked tremendous successes. He, however, acknowledged that although Ashanti Region is a difficult place in terms of its crime records, he would do his utmost best to maintain law and order with the support of other police personnel. For his part, DCOP Alex Isaac Quainoo, the in-coming Regional Police Commander, pledged to continue the good works of his predeccessor, to put the Service on a high pedestal, and urged the men and women in uniform to put up their maximum best. He said his leadership would not entertain maligning and interference, even though his doors are always opened for advice and suggestions that would help shape the Police Administration. DCOP Quainoo entreated the personnel to put their shoulders to the wheel to maintain law and order in the region. The Western Regional Chairman of the Ghana Journalists Association, Moses Dotsey Aklorbortu, commended the Regional Police Command for its cordial relationship with the Media, and expressed optimism that the Police Command would continue that relationship for the good of society.
