Zoomlion Man Installed Chief

The Special Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Zoomlion Ghana Limited and JOSPONG Group of Companies, Nana Yaw Sarkodie Aboagye, has been installed the new Akwamuhene of Akyem Awisa near Oda in the Eastern Region under the stool name, Nana Yaw Barima Twum Sarkodie. The new Akwamuhene has sworn the oath of allegiance to the Awisahene, Nana Kwarteng Karikari III at a grand ceremony at Awisa, which attracted people from all walks of life including Yaw Osafa-Maafo, former Minister of Finance. Speaking at the ceremony, the Awisahene, Nana Kwarteng Karikari, called on the other sub-chiefs and the entire people of Awisa to give the new Akwamuhene their maximum support to ensure the success of his administration. He advised parents to give their children the best education in order for them to become responsible citizens in future so that they could contribute their quota towards the development of the town and the nation at large. Nana Karikari said the Faculty of Education of the Presbyterian University College would be established at Awisa in October, 2014. The MP for Akyem Swedru, Kennedy Osei-Nyarko, called on chiefs to lead exemplary lifestyles and also spearhead development projects in their communities to sustain the confidence of their people. In a brief address, the newly installed chief, Nana Yaw Sarkodie Aboagye, said as a waste management expert, he would use his expertise to convert places of convenience in all the schools at Awisa into water closet facilities to improve sanitation in the town. According to him, it was his intention to transform Awisa into a modern township and therefore, urged his colleague sub-chiefs and all well-to-do citizens of Awisa to give him the necessary support in order that his dream could materialise. The Krontihene of Awisa, Nana Appianing Kwaframooah II, also delivered a speech on unity and cooperation among his subjects.
