Stanchart And Visa Unveils World Cup Promotion

Standard Chartered Bank and Visa, one of the world�s largest retail electronic payment networks, have entered into a partnership to offer 2014 FIFA World Cup rewards to customers in Ghana. In a promotion dubbed, �Experience Brazil Live�, the relationship will offer the Bank�s Visa card customers an opportunity to win a trip for two package to watch the Ghana Black Stars compete for honours in Brazil when the tournament commences in June this year, courtesy of Visa. A statement signed by Nii Okai Nunoo, Area Head of Corporate Affairs, West Africa, Standard Chartered Bank, said the Bank intends to use the platform to reward customer loyalty and also project its strategy of being the digital main Bank in the country. The promotion, which commenced on February 21 till April 30, requires all new and existing Visa Gold, Platinum and Infinite card holders to use their Visa debit cards online and at points of sale terminals within or outside the country when paying for goods and services in order to accumulate points. The customer with the highest number of points at the end of the promotion wins a 3-night trip for two to the FIFA World Cup, courtesy of Visa, official FIFA World Cup partner in Brazil. The package also includes a �Stadium tour�, a Visa FIFA Four-star hotel accommodation treatment, a Visa event team support staff and US$300 Visa prepaid money card. Mr Kweku Bedu-Addo, Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Limited, said �the vision of a cashless society in Ghana is something we are passionate about as a Bank.� He said their outfits believe that, �to collectively attain this height, a concerted effort has to be made by financial institutions such as ours. Standard Chartered was the first Bank in Ghana to introduce the Visa card payment platform in 2001 and currently issues Visa premium cards - Gold, Platinum and Infinite - bringing benefits such as convenience to customers, reliability and offering emergency cash when in distress.
