Wife Killer Remanded

THE 42-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly strangled his wife to death at Promised Land near Adjei-Kojo, Tema, over sex, has been charged with murder and remanded into prison custody to allow time for the Attorney-Generals advice. John Ninsons plea was not taken when he appeared before the Ashaiman District Magistrate Court presided over by Juliet Osei Duedu, with Inspector Salifu Yahaya prosecuting. According to police information, John had suspected his wife, Patience Ninson, a 38-year-old trader, of having an extra-marital affair with another man. He claimed she had been sending explicit text messages to the secret lover through WhatsApp and facebook, all social media networks and so in the night of February 25, 2014, he allegedly strangled the wife to death with the use of a nylon rope. John, after allegedly committing the heinous crime, fled his home for over a week until he subsequently surrendered himself to the Ashaiman District Police where the case was reported. According to information gathered by DAILY GUIDE and which was made public a few weeks ago a day after the incident, a neighbour who had earlier visited the couple, revisited the house to check on them, but could not meet any of them. It was during his return that he met the sister of Patience Ninson, whom he informed about the brawl between the couple the previous day. The sister allegedly went to the house and inside the bedroom, discovered Patiences motionless body lying on the matrimonial bed. The case was immediately reported to the Ashaiman District Police Headquarters. Police personnel were dispatched to the crime scene, only to find Patiences lifeless body on her matrimonial bed. John, during police interrogation and in his caution statement, according to information, admitted killing his wife but claimed he did that accidentally and not deliberately.
