Women Of Ecobank Donate To The Women�s Facility At The Catholic Hospital Of Hwidiem In The Brong Ahafo Region

Women of Ecobank Ghana on Friday 28th March, 2014 donated medical equipments to The St Elizabeth Catholic Hospital at Hwidiem a suburb Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo Region. The donation was as a result of personal contributions by the women to mark this year�s International women�s day which fell on 8th March 2014. Items donated include; delivery bed, examination couches, gloves, standing sphygnometer, oxygen machines, assorted BP apparatus etc. all valued at about GHC 20,000. The Hospital consults with patients from over 10 other towns including Kenyase No1, Kenyase No 2, Ntoroso, Wamahinso, Gyedu, Acherensua, Nkaseim, Atronie etc. In an address on behalf of the Ecobank women, Mr. Winston Wobil, the branch Manager for the Kenyase branch of Ecobank, stated that, the choice of St Elizabeth�s Hospital Hwidiem is in recognition of the good work being done by the hospital in attending to most of the neighboring towns with its limited resources. The Acting administrator Dr. Kwesi Tutu Ali, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, stated that the hospital currently caters for patients from 5 districts and handles close to over 3100 deliveries every year. He said as medical personnel it was very uncomfortable to have women deliver their babies on the ground, or lose mothers due to the lack of oxygen. He also said that the items would not only benefit patients but also help health personnel work under safer conditions.
