Tweaa DCE's Reinstatement Blues...NDC Activist Vows To Invoke Curses On Journalist

The Ahafo Ano South West Constituency Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abdul Rauf Rahman has sworn to invoke curses on a press man if he, Rahman is arraigned before court for allegedly assaulting the said journalist. The brouhaha surrounding the dismissal of the former District Chief Executive Officer for Ahafo Ano South, Gabriel Barimah took a different turn on Monday when a press conference organized by some Concerned NDC Youth in the district against the party's NEC call on President John Dramani Mahama to reinstate the sacked DCE, nearly resulted in a free-for-all fight. The Press Conference came on the heels of a communique signed by the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, also known as General Mosquito, calling on the president to reinstate the dismissed Ahafo Ano South DCE. According to General Mosquito, the reason for the dismissal of the DCE was unfair and may have been based on lack of accurate information. Some reporters who were invited to cover the scheduled press conference were assaulted by another NDC youth group allegedly led by Abdul Rauf Rahman. Padmore Kwame Ansong of Kumasi-based Hello FM, happened to be one of the reporters who were assaulted. Speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi in an interview, Padmore said the group that attacked him, accused him of always peddling lies when giving reports on air. According to him, Rauf Rahman and his group did not give him an opportunity to respond to the accusation, and quickly pounced on him. But reacting to this on the same platform, Rauf Rahman refuted Padmores claims. I will never make such a mistake of assaulting someoneI am a politician and I will never engage in such mattersPadmore is related to the current Constituency secretary and since 2009, he has been campaigning for his brother against the othersI never assaulted him, he said. Rahman also indicated that he and two other party members were arrested by the police in connection with the assault, and added that if the issue is taken to court, I will go but afterwards, I will curse him because God knows I didnt assault him.
