Elect Selfless And Disciplined Leaders- NPP Youth

Members of the Movement for Power and Good Governance (MOPAGG), a youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), have made strong appeal to delegates of the National Congress scheduled to take place in Tamale, to elect competent, selfless, dedicated , disciplined and courageous national leaders. The members urged the delegates to refrain from voting for persons based on their affiliations to any potential flag-bearer in 2016, and warned that this can affect the fortunes of the party. The appeal is contained in a statement issued and jointly signed by Mr Samuel Baidoo, and Mr P K Sarpong, leader of the group and Tano South Constituency Secretary respectively, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Winneba. The statement warned delegates to desist from voting for persons solely based on tribal sentiments. It said it is expedient for the party to maintain a united front, before , during and after the Tamale Congress. The statement reminded the rank and file of the party that the victories in the 2000 and 2004 elections were based mainly on the core traits of tirelessness, dedication, discipline and selflessness exhibited by the core executives of the party at the time. It warned members of the party not to behave like the ostrich, and portray to the outside world that all is well within the party, whilst behind the scenes, members with divergent views are being victimized. The statement said unity is paramount in the party, adding that the main aim is to ensure that the National Democratic Congress(NDC) is voted out of office in 2016.
