Despite the death of the Omanhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng, activities planned for this year�s Easter in the area will not be disrupted.
The assurance was given by Nana Asiedu Agyeman, the Abetifihene and Adontenhene of the Kwahu Traditional Area, who is the acting President of the traditional council.
According to him, activities for the Easter festivities in the traditional area would not affect the funeral of the Omanhene because the funeral was slated for December 7, this year.
At Easter time, hundreds of Kwahus, both in Ghana and abroad, undertake a homeward journey and it was feared that the traditional authorities in the area would cancel the festivities due to the death of Daasebre Akuamoah Boateng, who is yet to be buried.
Speaking to the Daily Graphic last Tuesday from his palace in Abetifi, Nana Agyeman explained that it was expected that by July, all merrymaking events would have come to an end, to be followed by traditional activities associated with the passing away of the Kwahuman Overlord.
�We have planned the two events in such a way that one will not disturb the other, especially the funeral of the Omanhene, who will finally be made to rest with our ancestors on December 7, this year�, he stated.
According to him, the main concern about the Easter was to make the festivities decent, with revellers, especially young females, dressing decently in accordance with the tradition of the Kwahus.
He, therefore, appealed to all, especially the youth, not to put on any dress that would expose the �vital parts� of the body, adding that Kwahus were decent people who frowned on indecency.
The Adontenhene also appealed to chiefs in the area to help make this year�s Easter a memorable one.
