Overcome The Greed And Selfishness

A call has been made to Christians to go to every length to purge the church of greed and selfishness. The Reverend Isaac Mensah of the Offinso House of Bethel Ministry International said he found it deeply worrying the situation where some of his colleague pastors had been twisting, giving weird and strange interpretations to the word of God just to satisfy personal interest. That, he warned, was not good for the health of the church and needed to be tackled and uprooted. He was delivering his inaugural sermon after his ordination at Offinso in the Offinso Municipality and the theme he chose was Who are you? The Rev Mensah said the expectation was that as followers of Christ, they would set good example for the rest of the society they should mirror all that was dignified and admirable. He therefore encouraged the congregation to be watchful of their lifestyle and conduct, to bring honour to the Christian religious faith. He counseled modesty, humility, selflessness, sacrifice and service to humanity. The Rev Paul Adu-Gyamfi Junior, General Overseer of the Church, said they should provide leadership to give hope and save the society from evil, crimes and suffering. They should never be ashamed of proclaiming the gospel, he added.
