Nanas Triumphant Entry...

The entire Tamale metropolis was brought to a standstill yesterday, when the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo arrived in the city, ahead of tomorrows national delegates conference of the party. The former flag bearer, who had declared his intention to contest for the position again, was met at the Tamale Airport and driven through the principal streets of Tamale by thousands of NPP supporters, clad in party paraphernalia, with over 500 motorbikes leading the procession. There were chants of No Nana, No Vote and Shei Nana, to wit unless Nana, by residents of Tamale, who had lined up the streets, making it emphatically clear that Nana Akufo-Addo is the man to rescue Ghana from the hardship and hopelessness the country currently finds herself in. Nana Addos first point of call, on arrival, was the Tamale Central Mosque, where he was received by the Chief Imam of Tamale, Imam Abdul Salam Ahmed. He informed the Chief Imam that his presence in Tamale was because of the NPPs National delegates conference, scheduled to take place on Saturday, at the Tamale Sports Stadium.Nana Addo also took the opportunity to inform the Chief Imam of his arrival into the country after taking a six month break from politics. In this regard, Nana Addo asked the Chief Imam for his blessings as he seeks to win, once again, the nomination of the NPP as its presidential candidate for the 2016 elections. The Chief Imam, on his part, prayed for Allahs guidance and protection for Nana Addo, further asking the Almighty Allah to order Nana Addos steps in his future endeavours. Nana Akufo-Addo followed up this visit by calling on Skeikh Bayan Basha, leader of the Ahali Sunna in Tamale. As an influential Moslem cleric in Tamale, Nana Addo thanked him for his and the support other Moslem clerics in Tamale.
