House Boy Loots Employer

The Madina Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Ernest A. Adjanor, has remanded Emmanuel Kwaku Danso in prison custody for stealing from his employer. According to the prosecutor, Inspector Anim Darko, an agency at New Legon near Adentan sent the accused to the complainant, Mr Godwin Ansah, a lecturer at the University of Professional Studies, to work in his house as a houseboy. On March 22, 2014 at about 6 p.m the same day Danso was brought to the house, Dr Ansah went out and left the house in the care of Danso and another househelp by name Albert. Inspector Darko said, in their employers absence, Albert asked Danso to accompany him to buy food, but he declined with the excuse that he wanted to take his bath. As soon as Albert left the house, Danso quickly entered Dr Ansahs bedroom and stole an Ipod valued at GH2,700, a wrist watch valued at GH100, perfumes valued at GH200 and a cash of GH1300 and left the house. Inspector Anim Darko stated that a report was made to the police and with the assistance of the agency, the accused was arrested and in his caution statement he admitted stealing the money and depositing it in his bank account. During investigations, the money was withdrawn from the bank and kept as an exhibit. He, however, denied knowledge of the items.
