Kwahu East Cries For DCE

AFTER FIVE rounds of voting without success to confirm the immediate past District Chief Executive (DCE), Samuel Asamoah, who was re-nominated by the President, residents of the district are calling on President John Mahama to as a matter of urgency nominate another person to fill the vacant position. The residents included some Chiefs, religions leaders, Assembly members, individuals and groups.. Making the call through the Daily Heritage, they said the absence of a DCE was hampering developmental drive of the once fast developing district. They said, after the exit of Mr. Asamoah, most of the initiated projects had been stalled and no explanation had come from any quarter. Any time we asked for the reason for the delay of the projects implementation, we were told we should go to Koforidua to see the Regional Minister for explanation, Kwasi Asante, a youth activist stated. Asante therefore pleaded with president and the appointing authorities to try and nominate another person to be considered as the DCE. He also appealed to the Assembly members to bury their differences and confirm any new person the President may appoint for the speedy development of the district.
