Dont Dent The Cross

THE RESIDENT Pastor of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) in Sunyani, the Brong-Ahafo Regional capital, Rev. Emmanuel Ayisi Mensah, has admonished Christians not to dent the cross of Christ with their behaviours. Preaching the sermon during a convention on Easter Sunday, Pastor Ayisi stated that the enemies of the cross today are the people whose conducts are contrary to the provisions of the cross. The power-packed four-day convention dubbed, 2014 Easter Gathering of The Saints held at the PIWC auditorium, was under the theme, The Cry that Impacts Generations. Speaking on the topic, The Written Will, Rev. Ayisi indicated that through the death of Christ on the cross, believers have been joined to God and become joint heirs of Christ. He explained that Christ bequeathed Christians a Will through His death and resurrection, and that heaven has become their perpetual inheritance. The man of God stated that unlike the times of old when God lived in man-made tabernacles, God now lives in man and has embossed His words in the inner man. He pointed out that Christians continue to receive persistent attacks from the devil because of the Will that Jesus Christ bequeathed them. He said the devil had been in heaven before and knows how glorious the place is, hence the tireless attacks through his numerous schemes just to prevent many Christians from entering heaven. Pastor Ayisi therefore encouraged Christians to realise that by Jesus crying, It Is Finished on the cross, everything about man has been dealt with by Christ. Various speakers at the convention, including Pastors Cornelius Edem Lotsu, James Nana Ofori and Peter Adjei of Liberation Barracks, Sunyani Central and Achiase Districts respectively, spoke extensively on the theme for the convention and indicated the potency in Jesus last cry Tetelestai meaning It Is Finished. Earlier, Pastor Ayisi in a sermon to open the convention on Thursday evening, explained that the Tetelestai cry of Christ on the cross was the most authoritative and profound statement ever made which is a summary of all that Christ came on earth to do. He said the cry means that Christ has paid the penalty for the sins of mankind in full, given man power over sin and the devil, reconciled man back to God, among others, as the blood of Jesus has washed the conscience of man.
