A man who broke into the room of her employer to steal an amount of GH�3,500, was on Tuesday sentenced to 21 years imprisonment by a Kumasi Circuit Court, presided over by Mr William Boampong. Nana Kwame Boadu, 40, committed the crime on March 31, and was convicted after he entered a plea of guilty. He has been working as a houseboy and got sacked by his employer, Madam Yaa Konadu, about two months ago, after admitting to an earlier stealing incident. Police Inspector Gulliver Tenkorang, told the court that the woman returned to her house at Pankrono- Kumasi with her daughter at about 1930 hours to find the door to her bedroom opened. She hurriedly entered only to be held at knife point by the convict amid threats to slit the throat, should she attempt to scream for help. The prosecution said the woman and daughter only watched helplessly as Boadu fled with the stolen cash. Madam Konadu later made a formal report to the Police, leading to his arrest at Obuasi on April 23. When asked by the court what he used the money for, Boadu responded that he had put it into illegal mining business and pleaded to be given time to refund it.
