Organized Labour and Government conclude 2014 Salary Negotiations

The Public Services Joint Standing Negotiating Committee (PSJSNC), comprising government, represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), the Ministries of Finance and Employment and Labour Relations, on one hand, and Organised Labour on the other, on Friday May 2, concluded negotiations on public sector wage adjustment A statement from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, signed jointly by Mr George Smith Graham, Cheif Executive Officer of the Commission on behalf of government, and Mr Kofi Asamoah, Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress, on behalf of Organized Labour, said the agreement is that the 2014 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) will be paid in lieu of an increase in the Base Pay on the single spine salary structure It said the COLA will represent 10 percent of the 2013 Basic salary and will be paid monthly, effective May 2014.
