WANEP Calls For Motorbike Ban In Bawku Reviewed

The West African Network for Peace building is backing calls for a review of the current ban on the use of motor bikes in the Bawku Municipality. Some youth in Bawku on Monday May 5, 2014 made the call for the ban in the area to be lifted saying the development is impacting negatively on businesses and health care delivery. The National security placed the ban in 2010 after a bloody ethnic clash. But four years down the line the ban is yet to be reviewed. National coordinator of WANEP-Ghana, Isaac Bayor told XYZ News the concerns of the youth are legitimate. He said Government should actually consider reviewing it (the ban) perhaps giving some time limits that, men can ride motor bikes but not total ban Meanwhile the Municipal Chief Executive Issahaku Bukari says the concerns are of the youth are being worked on.
