Sack Sekondi MayorNDC Youth Say He Has Embarrassed Party More Than Tweaa DCE

THE WESTERN Regional Coordinator of the Friends for John Mahama (FJM), Haruna Adamu, has told The Chronicle that he will be surprised if President Mahama fails to sack the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Sekondi-Takoradi, Captain Anthony Cudjoe (rtd), from office. According to him, for failing to return to chest the traveling allowance he received to travel to Columbia, a trip which did not come on, the MCE had embarrassed the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and must, therefore, be shown the exit. Speaking in an interview in Takoradi yesterday, Haruna noted that he could still not fathom why the MCE took the decision not to return the money. One of the regional executives of the NDC, who spoke to The Chronicle on condition of anonymity, said the conduct of the Sekondi-Takoradi Mayor had embarrassed the party more than what the Tweaa DCE did. Captain Cudjoe has been in the news lately, after pocketing travel allowance given to him, even though he did not make the intended trip. When The Chronicle broke the story, the Mayor went on air to state that he only took $1,400, and not the GH30,000 quoted by the Chronicle. The Sekondi Mayor, who was reportedly cooling off in Tema instead of the South American State of Columbia, where he was supposed to have travelled to, told Skyy Power FM in Takoradi that even though he did not travel to Columbia, he was still working for the Sekondi Assembly, and had, therefore, used up the travel allowance.
