BNI, BOG, Others For Judgement Debt Commission

The Bureau of National Investigations, the Bank of Ghana and the Ministry of Health are among a number of institutions summoned to appear before Commission of Inquiry into judgement debt payments and related matters. The Commission was established by President John Mahama to enquire into the payments some of which have become public embarrassment. A statement issued by the Commission Friday said it will continue to hold its public sittings on Monday May 12, Tuesday May 13, Wednesday May 14 and Thursday May 15, 2014. The statement asked representatives of the under listed organisations to appear before the Commission at the dates indicated against them to assist the Commission in its work: Monday May 12, 2014 Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning Bureau of National Investigation Ghana Revenue Authority ( Customs Division) Tuesday May 13, 2014 Attorney General/ Solicitor General Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning Controller & Accountant General Department Lands Commission Wednesday May 14, 2014 Ministry of Education Minerals Commission Ministry of Local Government Bank of Ghana Thursday May 15, 2014 Ministry of Agriculture Land Valuation Division of the Lands Commission Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ministry of Health The statement said the invitees are at liberty to appear with their lawyers, while members of the public who wish to testify or volunteer information must first report at the Commission�s office to give their statements. The Commission will then schedule a date for them to give evidence. �All those who intend to testify or volunteer information to the Commission but are unable to be present in person are requested to submit memoranda to the Commission. All such memoranda will be treated confidentially.�
