Baatsona Thief Grabbed

A 19-YEAR-old driver�s mate has been apprehended by the Sakumono District Police for allegedly stealing laptop computer and other personnel belongings. The culprit, Enoch Kwadjo Mensa, resident of Awoshie in Accra, was said to have scaled over the fence wall of a church and entered the church premises where a witness in the case involving him (Kwadjo Mensa) was residing. Superintendent Alex K. Wowolo, the Sakumono District Police Commander, confirmed the arrest to DAILY GUIDE in an interview. He explained that the suspect, together with another suspect (now at large), on April 14, 2014, at about 1:00 pm, the complainant, who is a pastor at House of Fire Evangelistic Ministry, Baatsona, was praying when all of a sudden, he spotted them having scaled over a fence wall from an adjourning house into the church premises. According to him, the pastor, who suspected them to be thieves, raised an alarm and the suspects took to their heels but were pursued and Enoch was arrested. The other suspect however, managed to escape. He said two bags were retrieved from Enoch Kwadjo Mensa and a search conducted on him led to the discovery of a laptop computer, crow bar, Prada sandals and a torchlight. When the crime scene, according to Superintendent Wowolo, was visited, it was detected that the suspects broke into the house of the witness in the case and stole a Toshiba laptop computer together with the items mentioned, including an amount of GH�50. Enoch was said to have admitted the offence in his caution statement to police and would be arraigned before court when investigations were completed.
