Lets Support Government To Transform Economy

Reverend John Felix Kwaku Yeboah, the newly appointed Brong-Ahafo Regional Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, has entreated Ghanaians to support government to transform the dwindling economy. He emphasized that the current state of the economy needed a collective approach to tackle, and called on government to create the opportunity for all Ghanaians, irrespective of their political and social backgrounds, to contribute their quota. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview in Sunyani on Tuesday, Rev Yeboah said it is unfortunate Ghanaians have allowed partisan politics to break their front, drawing back development processes. He observed that the country had personalities with excellent economic backgrounds, but was worried that because partisan politics is the order of the day, other economic experts either remain reluctant to support government, or are not given the opportunity to do so. The Rev Minister noted that it is rather the ordinary citizenry who are the chunk of the national population that suffered the consequences of economic depression. Rev Yeboah said the current situation in the country is not the best, noting that everything is been done along political lines. He called for unity and oneness among all Ghanaians, stressing that the onus is on churches to ensure that such unity and social cohesion is attained, and tasked the clergy to take up the responsibility. We have to be nationalistic, instead of partisan consciousness, if we want to see transformation and speed up economic growth and development, the Rev Minister added. Rev Yeboah stressed that beside the spiritual development, churches ought to encourage and support their unemployed members to go into skills training, to acquire employable skills that would give them jobs to live on.
