Nigerians Laud US Contribution Towards Combating Insecurity

Nigerians have lauded the contributions of foreign powers such as the United States, Britain and Israel, in their efforts to combat insecurity. This came to light when the Ghana News Agency interacted with a cross-section of Nigerians in Abuja on Wednesday. They expressed the hope that with the help of experts from these countries the fight against Boko Haram and other terrorists would be won. Mr Fred Odeli, an Information and Communications Expert, said the wave of bombing the nation was witnessing, was horrifying, and urged his fellow countrymen to be on the look-out for people with suspicious characters, adding that security is the work of everyone. Mr F. T. Akinyemi, a taxi driver, appealed to the Federal Government and the foreign experts, to do all they could in their power to bring back the 223 girls that have being abducted by Boko Haram. He explained that the abduction of the girls makes it very frightful to send students into boarding schools, as anything can happen to them. Mr Lawrence Gwanzuwang, a gardener, described the situation in the country as very terrible, and urged Christians to pray for divine intervention. Ms Grace Fred, a business woman in Abuja, said they sometimes spend sleepless nights over the insecurity in the country, because looking at the spate of bombing; anyone can be the next victim. She expressed the hope that the abducted girls would soon be set free.
