Ghana Can Only Be Developed By Ghanaians K.B Asante

Dr. K.B Asante, Career Diplomat, has said Ghana has the requisite skills and talents to develop. For this reason, he said, efforts must be made to harness all the human and material resources to move the nation forward. Dr. Asante who made these remarks at a forum organised by the Passionate African Initiative (PAI) to commemorate this years African Union Day in Accra, pointed out that: Ghana can only be developed by Ghanaians, and not outsiders. Dr. Asante, a former Presidential Secretary in the First Republic, who spoke on What the Younger Generation need to know in making an Impact, reminded the Youth that as future leaders of this great nation, they should count on what the past leaders and their forebears have done, and endeavour to continue from there in order to make a positive impact on the future generation. He called for a visionary leadership, and said those leaders ought to use trusted people who can help them achieve set goals and objectives. Dr. Sodzi- Sodzi Tettey, immediate Vice President of the Ghana Medical Association whose topic was: Managing Multi-Talents, reminded the Youth that they must look for opportunities in order to apply their talents.. Dr. Tettey further urged the Youth to endeavour to add value to whatever they do with those talents. Paa Kumi Frank, Executive Secretary of PAI, explained that the event is an annual conversation dubbed: The Great Conversation on Africa, and that it serves as a serial platform to share knowledge on youth empowerment and governance issues in Africa. Paa Kumi said Africa indeed has a future, and Africans, therefore, need to revisit the past and make judicious use of the continents past heritage and values. The theme for the occasion was: Promoting Local Content in the face of New Scramble for Africa.
