Okyehene Is Sole Signatory To Okyemans Land Documents

Nana Mbeah, Mponoahene (Land Boundary Chief) of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, has appealed to the Land Commission to ensure that Osagyefo Amoatia Oforipanin, Okyehene is the only signatory to all land documents concerning the Traditional Area. Nana Mbeah, who made the call in an interview with Ghana News Agency at Teacher Mante after touring some communities in the traditional area, said Okyeman has only stool lands and not family lands. He therefore advised chiefs, developers, settlers and organisations who have acquired lands for development in the area to ensure that their documents are duly signed by the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Oforipanin and stop employing land guards who are bent on causing trouble. The Mponoahene also called on the settlers to contact the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council at Oforipanin Fie at Kyebi to normalise their stay in the area to avoid land litigations on Okyemans stool lands. Nana Mbeah noted that the vast stretch of Okyemans land from the Densu River through Nsawam-Adoagyiri could be used to create job opportunities for the youth in the area to curb the rural-urban migration. He advised the youth to shun chiefs and developers who would like to influence them with money to cause trouble and should rather concentrate on their education to become good future leaders. Some of the communities the Mponoahene toured were Suhum, Amanase, Kyekyewere, Anum Apapamu, Ayekokooso, Coaltar, Dokorochiwa, Kofipare, Kofi Kwei, Okantah, Adoagyiri and Ntoaso.
