NDC Serial Caller Caged For Robbery

A known serial caller and purported member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Axim in the Western Region, Etimo Amihere has been busted by the police for allegedly robbing a mobile phone credit cards vendor in the area of his money after purportedly subjecting the vendor to severe beatings. According to sources, the vendor, one Stephen Kaku, alias Aleeyefe, sustained various degrees of injury after he was beaten by the suspect and some thugs for no apparent reason. Narrating the story to DAILY GUIDE in an interview, a source at Axim disclosed that Etimo Emihere, also called pastor, is an Akpeteshie (local gin) bar operator near the Axim main lorry park, while the victim operates at the forecourt of Amiheres bar. DAILY GUIDE learnt that on May 20, 2014 at about 5:30 pm, Emihere asked Kaku to accompany him to Apataim, near Axim to purchase some of the local gin. The victim allegedly agreed and joined Amihere on his motorbike for the journey. However, in the midway through the journey, the alleged NDC serial caller was said to have halted the motorbike and told Kaku that he wanted to urinate. Amihere then got down from the motorbike and as Kaku was also about to get down and wait for the suspect to finish urinating, he (Kaku) was allegedly hit with a piece of stick in the head from behind. DAILY GUIDE gathered that the victim fell down and heard Amihere telling him that because he (Kaku) was part of those in Axim peddling falsehood that he (Amihere) is a gay, he would teach the victim a lesson. DAILY GUIDE learnt that Kaku later realized that Amihere was there with some thugs. At a point, the thugs realized that Kaku was not moving his body anymore and thought he was dead. They allegedly took the victims bag containing some credit cards and money and ran away leaving him (Kaku) in the bush. A source hinted that Stephen Kaku spent the night in the bush but managed to crawl to the roadside early the following day, adding that a Good Samaritan driver came across him and carried him to Axim. The victim was sent to the hospital for treatment and later narrated his ordeal. A report was made to the police who later arrested Etimo Amihere. DSP Lawrence Bele, the Axim Crime Officer, told DAILY GUIDE that the suspect had been charged with robbery because of the circumstances surrounding the case and had been remanded into police custody pending further investigations.
