UMaT Receives Mining Equipment from Iduapriem Mine

As Part of its commitment to support capacity development among Ghanaian youth for sustainable development, AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine has donated mining survey equipment estimated at seventy-five thousand Ghana cedis to the Geomatic Survey Department of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at a recently held ceremony in Tarkwa. The items include Sokkia Total Station (Set 5F), Sokkia Total Station (Set 3B), Sokkia Total Station (Set 5A), Trimble total Station (3600series), Ten prisms, Staff clamps, one Tripod and Stereoscope. Receiving the items, Registrar of the University, E.k. Beddai, thanked Iduapriem Mine for the swift response to their request. He stated that the equipment will help the students have hands on experience in their programme of study before venturing unto the job market. He used the occasion to thank Iduapriem Mine for their partnership and help over the years in the career development of its students and the university community. He promised that the equipment will be put to good use for its intended purposes.
