Restaurants Prepare For World Cup Tournament

Some popular recreational centres and restaurants in the Tema Metropolis are fervently preparing to host football fans who will throng their premises to watch the FIFA World Cup tournament that kicks off in Brazil next week. The Ghana News Agency notices that while some restaurants have decorated their premises with the national colours, others have posted bills announcing their intention to show all the matches at their premises. At the T-Havana Parks Limited in Community Nine, a bill reading T-Havana Parks Limited, we support the Black Stars, watch all the matches live here has been placed at its entrance. The National colours have also been used to decorate the place as a form of announcing the Parks preparedness for the one month soccer tournament. Miss Aisha Gladys Atindekoun, Sales Manager of T-Havana, said her outfit was organizing a World Cup jam for companies which have approached them to promote their goods at the park during the period. Miss Atindekoun said a number of predict and win competitions would be carried out during the period. According to her, apart from watching the matches on the giant screen mounted at the premises, one could also opt for the air-conditioned viewing room. She assured patrons of reinforced security but advised fans to report at the place early to park within the premises to ensure total safety of their vehicles. Mr Robert Kotei Ashong, Manager of New 7-Heavens Restaurant in Tema Community Eight, said they had mounted one giant screen at the forecourt of the restaurant, one standard size screen inside and a plasma television inside the restaurant to show all the matches live. Mr Ashong said 7-Hevens and Indomie have a contract to provide free cooked indomie noodles to every fan who watches the match at their premises. He said Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) and the Guinness Ghana Limited (GGL) would also run some promotions during the tournament adding that live band entertainment would also be provided during the half-time of every match. Fans who would watch the matches at Suzies Joint in Community 17 have been promised a view on a giant screen and the availability of mosquito repellents and stand by generator. Mr Anthony Amegashie, Manager of the joint, said security was assured due to the joints nearness to the Community 18 police patrol tent. Officials of all the recreation centres advised the youth to celebrate safely and drink responsibly. They also called on fans to be good losers and not to turn their premises into dens of violence when the unexpected happens to their team. The First Baptist Church in Tema Community Five would use the World Cup period to draw more people to Christ. Mr Adjei Sam, Chairman of the Media Relations Ministry of the Church, said First Baptist would show all the matches especially those that would takeoff around 1900 hours at the churchs forecourt. Mr Sam said in-between the matches, there would be short evangelism and exaltation and added that the Church was expecting between 400 and 500 people to watch matches.
