Woman Dies In Attempt To Collect Money From Hubby

An attempt by a woman to force the husband to give her money for the upkeep of their three-year-old son has resulted in her death. Madam Yaa Amankwa, popularly called Obaa Yaa, ran and held the KIA Truck the husband was driving and, as she attempted to jump and sit in the bucket of the truck, she fell on the road and died on the spot. The incident happened at Dadieso, near Goaso on Thursday. A police source at Goaso confirmed the incident to The Ghanaian Times, saying the body of the woman had been deposited at the Goaso government hospital. The husband, named only as Ahenkan, has been arrested by the police and placed in custody. It was gathered that the husband lived at Goaso whilst the wife and their three-year-old son reside at Dadieso. On Thursday, he decided to pay them a visit and the woman was said to have demanded some money to buy something�s for the son. Mr. Ahenkan was said to have told her that there was no money but she allegedly held him such that it nearly turned into a brawl but they were separated. While some elders were trying to solve the problem, Mr. Ahenkan dodged to drive away but the woman saw him and chased him. When she got closer to the vehicle the husband sparked it and was about leaving. At that juncture, the woman held the vehicle and tried to climb into the bucket but fell on the road while the vehicle was in motion. She died on the spot sending chills down the spine of the onlookers.
