SADA Gets New Nine-Member Board

A nine member board for the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) was last Friday inaugurated into office to oversee the management of resources of the Authority and ensure the effective performance and operations of the Authority. Members of the Board are, Mrs Angelina Mornah Domakyaareh Chairperson, Dr Grace Bediako-Member, Dr Samuel Ameyaw-Member, and Professor Mariama Awumbilla-Member. The rest are, Mr Sulley Adam-Member, Naba Sigri Bewong-Member, Dr Alhassan Iddrisu-Member and Mr Wilbert Tengey. Inaugurating the Board, a Minister of State at the office of the President in Charge of Development Authorities, Dr Mustapha Ahmed reminded the Board of the core objective of SADA as stipulated in Act (805 of 2010). He charged them to strengthen the Institutional framework for funding and coordinating development initiatives in the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone, (NSEZ). Dr Mustapha added, the strategy of SADA focuses on the development of small-scale farming as well as the development of market-led out-grower schemes within a modernized agriculture sector. He observed SADA has already taken various positive initiatives and decisions that are aimed at improving the Economic wellbeing of the people and bridging the gap between the NSEZ and the rest of the country. Dr Mustapha Ahmed also urged the New Board to continue to proffer sound advice to management that will result in changing the fortunes for the betterment of the people of the North. On her part, the Chairperson of the Board, (Mrs.) Angelina Mornah Domakyaareh assured that the newly constituted Board will work assiduously, with honesty, patriotism and dedication to duty to achieve the mission of SADA. She noted that �it is Our collective resolve to work tirelessly with the management of SADA, and with your continued support, we will work hard to stimulate growth in the Savannah Belt of our Country and to address the human and Social development needs of the deprived areas in the Savannah Ecological Zone of our Nation�. SADA is mandated to providing strategic planning guidance to government on the implementation and review of an accelerated development strategy for the NSEZ. Further, SADA is to mobilize human, financial and other resources for the implementation of the accelerated development strategy.
