Christian Council Urges Black Stars To Make Ghana Proud

Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG), has urged the Senior National Team, Black Stars to make Ghana proud by winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil with the conviction that the team has what it takes to conquer the world. In a press statement copied to Peacefmonline.com, Rev. Dr. Opuni-Frimpong asked all Ghanaians to unite and offer unflinching physical and spiritual support to the team to enable them lift the prestigious World Cup trophy. He further tasked the Stars and the technical handlers to remain united and focused as a team with confidence and tactical discipline while approaching each game in the ongoing tournament. He added that the Black Stars should see each opponent surmountable without allowing any big name in the tournament to intimidate them but rather be full of hope, high in spirit and depend on God to win the trophy. In the 2006 and 2010 World Cups in Germany and South Africa respectively, the Team proved to the world that, it is capable of conquering the world by their progressive performance and we admonish them to make history by becoming the first African country to win the world cup. We urge them to see each opponent surmountable and not allow any big name in the tournament to intimidate them, but be full of hope, high in spirit and depend on God to win the trophy. The Council assures them of her continuous prayers in their quest for glory. We pray and hope that Ghana will stun the world, and win the world cup. We encourage the Team with these words from Deuteronomy 1:30 which reads, The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes. God bless our homeland Ghana and make her great and strong in Jesus name, he pontificated.
