The President of the Senior Staff Association of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KOSSA), Charles Offei Palm, has told Citi News, his life is in danger after he allegedly received death threats from the Board Chairman, Edward Annan and the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rev. Albert Okpoti Botchway. In a press release on Monday, the president of the association, Charles Offei Palm said, �KOSSA is writing to complain about the posture of insults and disrespect adopted by the board chairman towards senior staff of the hospital. The chair told junior staff, senior staff were thieves and were the cause of financial problems of the hospital. He also said he was going to strip one director naked". This accusation comes a few days after the senior staff also accused the hospital of buying nine brand new VW Passats for its directors using internally generated funds. The Health Ministry has since cancelled the acquisition of the cars with the funds. The Senior Staff Association have been breathing down the neck of management after forwarding a list of accusations to President John Mahama. They are among other things accusing the board and management of the hospital of spending more than Ghc1million on luxury vehicles. The staff members are claiming although the Acting CEO has a vehicle for his official use, the board has given the green light for him to buy the latest Audi A6 car for his personal use. Payment for the vehicles, according to the petition to the President, were made from the hospital�s internally generated funds which are meant for the purchase of items that go into direct patient care. Mr. Offei-Palm told Citi News, the misuse has led to poor infrastructural development. The senior staff was scheduled to wear red arm bands this week to press home their demand for the dissolution of the board and the dismissal of Rev. Botchway. Meanwhile, Rev Botchway and Mr. Annan have denied all the allegations leveled against them in an interview with Citi News.
