2 Women Trade Blows �Over GH�80.00 Susu Collection

Two women at Official Town, a suburb of Kasoa yesterday engaged each other in a fierce fight over GH�80.00 resulting in one of them severely wounded and hospitalized at the Amanfrom Clinic. The two, both mothers namely, Halima, a mother of five and Sumeya, who has a 9-month-old baby confronted each other due to a misunderstanding about a Susu contribution they were making. An eye witness who apprised the DAILY HERITAGE said Halima and her rival, Sumaya together with some of their neighbors started a Susu contribution of which they pay GH�51.00 weekly, and the said amount is given to one of the members in a rotational policy agreement after each week. According to the source, when it got to Sumaya�s turn to receive the amount of GH�1, 000.00, from the leader, (Amelia), it was short by GH�80.00. Upon realizing the difference, she went to alert Halima about the situation. After the aggrieved, Sumaya alerted her rival about the development, Halima also claimed she encountered the same challenge when her time was due. Halima, therefore, went ahead to confront the group leader by name Amerlia, but she refuted the allegation that the money was short-changed and that the money she gave to the recipient was the exact amount after verifying it in her presence. The group leader the paper learnt invited the two to resolve the matter, but in their quest to resolve the misunderstandings, an argument ensued between the two rivals leading to the fight that Halima eventually got hospitalized. Efforts to end the brawl between these women yielded no results.
