Three Arrested With Gun, �Wee�

The police have arrested three persons with a locally-manufactured weapon and dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. The suspects, all in their 20s are Prince Ogeyiri, Mawuli Sedzro both carpenters, and Ebenezer Awuku, a carver. According to the police, the suspects were allegedly preparing for robbery operations when they were apprehended. The Accra Regional Police Crime Officer, Chief Superintendent Paul Kontomah told The Ghanaian Times that on June 28, at about 7:00 p.m., the police had information that the suspects were in possession of a gun, concealed in a bag at Agbogbloshie, behind the Bimbilla station. A police patrol team was dispatched to the area and the suspects were arrested. Chief Supt. Kontomah disclosed a bag was found on Ogeyiri with a gun, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a knife, and Identity cards. The suspects are currently in custody, assisting the police with investigations, and would be put before court after that. He urged the public to provide reliable information to the police to help combat crime, warning that �the criminals live with us in the community�.
