The management of the Kintampo College of Health and Well-being (COHK), and the Nkoranza Campus of the Anglican University College of Technology (ANGUTECH), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to encourage academic excellence in Health and Allied Sciences. The five-year collaboration would produce professionals for health facilities that lacked staff with adequate personnel to offer quality health delivery services to the people. It would also enable the students to identify major health problems facing the people, for immediate intervention, to enhance development within the communities. The benefits are paramount in promoting health education, training and research within the catchment areas of the two institutions. Professor Kwasi Nsiah-Gyabaah, Vice President of ANGUTECH, signed for his institution, while Nii Amaah Ashitey, Acting Principal initialed for COHK. They agreed to promote academic and research co-operation, capacity-building, faculty exchange and exchange of experiences, information and best practices for the development of the institutions. In addition, they would attract quality students and adopt methods that would adequately resource them to meet the demands of society, thereby bringing their institutions to the forefront of health research training and education in Ghana. Under the collaboration, their lecturers would exchange information, pre-clinical tutorial staff, to enhance teaching and learning, research and development. The students would also have access to each other's facilities, such as laboratories and sources of health information and technology, to improve on their knowledge and capabilities.
