The immediate past Youth and Sports Minister, Mr. Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, has disclosed that he wanted the Brazilian Police to arrest Black Stars midfielder, Sulley Ali Muntari for assault. �Upon receiving briefing that Muntari had punched Moses Parker, a Ghana Football Association (GFA) official and member of the Black Stars Management Committee, I retorted why somebody did not call the Brazilian Police to arrest him for assault. It was an unprovoked attack on a Black Stars� Management Committee member and you may not like me or Kwasi Nyantakyi, wrong is wrong.� Speaking in an interview with Paul Adom Okyere on Metro TV in Accra, the Minister added that there was total breakdown of discipline at the Black Stars� camp in Brazil to the extent that some players openly insulted officials and other management committee members including a business tycoon, Mr. Kwame Ofosu Bamfo, known as Sikkens. Mr. Afriyie Ankrah who was relieved of his post while on duty in Brazil, described what happened in Brazil as horrendous and promised to speak in detail about what happened in Brazil at the right time and on the right platform. �Most of the stories that came from Brazil were fabrications. In time, I will render account of every penny spent at the World Cup,� he added. He apologized for the country�s disappointing World Cup campaign saying the team had a greater chance of progressing to the final of the World Cup tournament but for the row over appearance fees. �We went to Brazil with expectations that we will improve on our past performances. Unfortunately that didn�t happen and therefore Ghanaians are justifiably disappointed and angry. I am more disappointed than anybody else. �As a leader of the delegation, I would like to apologies to Ghanaians for what happened,� the Minister said.
