Ghana's Agriculture Performance Not Doing Well - Abayori

Ghana's Agriculture Sector has always been the backbone of the country's economy. But how has the sector been performing under the various ministers and governments. Despite the many good policy direction, implementation seems to have been done properly. These and many other challenges is the subject of discussion by Radio Ghana. The President of the Agriculture Awards Winners Association, Philip Abayori, takes a look at the performance of the sector and the challenges. He calls for the adoption of appropriate technology to reduce labour involvement to improve efficiency. In the animal husbandry and poultry sectors, Mr. Abayori said the country is not doing well because the imports still out-weigh production. Government therefore needs to focus on these areas to support the farmers. On policy direction, he said the country has good policies but the problem is implementation due to power struggle among technocrats in the Ministry.
