Disqualify Osei Ameyaw From NPP Flagbearership Race Fmr Parliamentary Aspirant

Former 2012 Parliamentary Candidate for Weija Constituency on the ticket of the opposition of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kofi Dokyi Apeatu-Ampaw wants Hon. Kofi Osei Ameyaw, who is seeking to contest the partys Presidential primaries, disqualified for failing to meet the stipulated requirements. It is possible the flagbearership race of the NPP will go through a special electoral college to prune down the number of aspirants to five, after a total of seven candidates filed to lead the party. They are Francis Addai Nimoh, John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Osei Ameyaw, Joe Ghartey and Stephen Asamoah Boateng. They each paid a filing fee of Ghc75,000 after paying Ghc10,000 to pick the forms at an earlier date. But grapevine reports indicate one of the aspirants, Hon Osei Ameyaw failed to pay the filing fee of Ghc75,000 with the explanation that the party owes him an amount of Ghc200,000 and that the executives should deduct the filing fee from the money owed him. This notwithstanding, Kofi Dokyi Apeatu-Ampaw popularly known as Kofi 1234, has called on the executives to disqualify the aspirant after investigations have been conducted to verify his claims. Though Osei Ameyaw promised to give Ghc200,000 to support the party conference in Tamale, he never gave the money to the Finance Committee as promised and this is captured in the report. It is strange that the General Secretary is not looking into the case to ascertain the truth. Hon. Osei Ameyaw should tell us he does not have money for the filing fee..we can find out from the members of the Finance Committee if they receive any money from Osei Ameyaw. There is a report that contradicts all the claims of expenditures during the Delegates Conference at Tamale by Osei Ameyaw and yet the executives are not investigating the matter. Hon Osei Ameyaw should be disqualified for failing to pay for the filing fee; his forms should be invalidated because he has not paid the GHc75,000and so he should be disqualified..he has not given anybody one pesewa and so how come he is claiming the party is indebted to him? If thats the way to go in the party then all of us have contributed to the party and we can as well send invoice to the party to make claims.the executives must deal with the report of the Finance Committee in the interest of the party, he urged.
