The Methodist Bishop of Obuasi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Stephen Richard Bosomtwe-Ayensu has called on President John Mahama to �talk less and do more.' According to him, the president must be seen to be working because Ghanaians are tired of assurances of an improvement in the socio-economic conditions in the country. Rev. Bosomtwi-Ayensu made the comment on Asempa FM�s Ekosii Sen programme on Friday. He said Ghanaians are languishing in abject poverty because government has turned a blind eye to what he described as the spiraling increases in goods and services. The Methodist Bishop reiterated the urgent need for government to institute more practical measures to revive the country�s economy. �Talk is cheap, what we need is action. Ghanaians are tired of the assurance to fulfill the Better Ghana Agenda promise,� he exclaimed. Rev. Bosomtwi-Ayensu wondered why Ghana was wallowing in abject poverty and queried what had become of the various natural resources the country is endowed with. He cautioned government against the �profligate� expenditure at the expense of the bread and butter issues confronting the citizenry. The Methodist Bishop was quick to add that his critique of the Mahama-led administration is not out of malice, except that putting things right was better than to gloss over evil and crown it. Rev. Bosomtwi-Ayensu said Ghanaians cannot continue to endure this hardship in the country thus government must expedite action on improving the living conditions.
