A sex maniac who abused a four-year-old pupil after abducting the poor girl, was on Thursday whisked into prison to begin a 15-year jail term. Isaac Owusu, aka Bantama, 30, was convicted for defilement of a girl below 16 years, contrary to Section 101(2) of Act 29/60 as amended by section 11 of Act 554/98, after he was found guilty by a Kumasi gender-based court presided over by Rita Agyeman-Badu. He had pleaded not guilty to the charge of sexually assaulting the kindergarten pupil at Ahenema-Kokoben, near Kumasi. Police prosecutor, Chief Inspector Rose Essuman informed the court that the complainant in the case is the mother of the victim, who lived in the same vicinity with the convict. According to her, on October 18, 2014, at about 7:30 am, the complainant, after dressing up the victim for school, entered her room but when she came out her daughter was nowhere to be found. Chief Inspector Essuman claimed that all efforts to trace the whereabouts of the kid by the complainant proved unsuccessful. She said when the complainant received a call from the school authorities that she (complainant) should come and pay her daughter�s canteen fee, she met her daughter at the school; and when she questioned her daughter as to how she got to the school, the little girl told her mother her ordeal in the hands of the convict. Isaac Owusu was said to have abducted the victim and taken her to a secluded location where he sexually assaulted her before escorting her to school. A report was made to the police, leading to the arrest of the convict, the prosecutor stated further, and added that Isaac was charged with the offence after police investigations.
