If This Gov't Is Deaf Then Nationwide Strikes Will Solve Its Hearing Problem Kabila

Former National Youth Organiser of the Convention People's Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr. has called on all Ghanaians to demonstrate against what he describes as disorganized governance by President John Dramani Mahama. His comment is in support of short nationwide sit-down strike by the Organized Labour. Organized labour at a news conference on Friday July 18, declared a nationwide strike indicating its intentions to hit the streets on Thursday July 24, to protest against the worsening economic conditions in the country. In a joint statement, leaders of the Organized Labour deplored the recent 23 percent increase in pertol prices and also accused government of passing on taxes and charges to Ghanaians without estimating the impact of such increases on our wellbeing. However, notable personalities including the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu has appealed to members of the group to rescind their decision and engage government in a constructive dialogue. But Kabila counseled the labour group to champion their course as he effusively back the idea of the Organized Labour expressing their grievances via a nationwide protest since government has turn deaf ears to their moans over the years. Speaking on Peace FMs flagship morning show Kokrokoo, the CPP man warned the group never to rescind their decision just like what the Trade Union Congress [TUC] did some time ago The memberships of the Organized Labour are not happy with what is going on and they dont want disappointments like the past from their leaders. They [Organized labour] should stand firmly to demonstrate to send the right signal. This coming Thursday, they should not joke with their protestit must be done and done well to register the protest. I am encouraging all workers and Ghanaians to join to draw government attention. If the government is deaf, this demonstration will solve that hearing problem, he opined. He however disagrees with any individual who thinks the approach by Organized Labour to strike will heed to nothing.
