Aquinas Enjoys Endorsement From Minority

The Minister for Central Regional, Mr. Aquinas Tawiah Quansah received a massive endorsement for his new office by the Minority Leader, Kyei Mensah Bonsu and Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Matthew Opoku Prempeh both of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) when Parliament approved eleven persons nominated by the President for ministerial appointments last Friday. Their comments came after the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ebo Barton-Odro, who is also the Chairman of the Appointments Committee of the House moved the motion for the adoption of the report of the committee for the approval of the 11 Ministers. Out of the 11 ministers, the Minority Leader singled out Mr. Aquinas Quansah, Member of Parliament for Mfantseman West for mentioning. According to Mr. Kyei Mensah, the Minister designate distinguished himself during the vetting and demonstrated clearly that his time as a deputy Minister to the Central Region has given him practical experience which he can bring to bear in solving some of the problems confronting the region. Hon. Opoku Prempeh also praised the Central Regional Minister for his display of �tremendous practical knowledge� on some of the key questions put to him especially on fisheries which according to him was quite masterfully answered. The newly sworn-in ministers are Nii Osah Mills, Minister designate for Lands and Natural Resources; Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, Minister designate for Health; Mr James Zuugah Tiigah, Minister designate for the Upper East Region; Mr Acquinas Tawiah Quansah, Minister designate for the Central Region and Mr Antwi Boasiako Sekyere, Minister designate for the Eastern Region. The rest are Mrs Della Sowah, Deputy Minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection; Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, Deputy Minister designate for Health; Mr Johnny Osei Kofi, Deputy Minister designate for Water Resources, Works and Housing; Mr Alex Segbefia, Deputy Minister designate for Defence; Mrs Mona Quartey, Deputy Minister designate for Finance and Mr Ato Sarpong, Deputy Minister designate for Communications.
